“People are dying over hurt feelings,” she wrote.“We’ve forgotten how to have constructive conversations across divides. That breakdown in dialogue is part of why we are in this situation today, right here in Maple Valley Township.”

Booth has said at other times that she doesn’t support racism or antisemitism. She didn’t in that particular message. She did say she respects her husband’s right to free speech, “even when I disagree with it”

“To suggest that I must divorce my husband over political or social views is not only unreasonable, it’s insulting to the many couples who hold different perspectives yet remain committed to each other,” she wrote.

“Hurt feelings”? Having political views that say we should exterminate some group of people is not “hurt feelings”. Having political views that say this country is for white people and nobody else is not “a difference of opinion”. Its literal poison and deserves to be treated as such. Thats like calling mold on bread “a difference in flavor” or a cancerous tumor “a difference in cell types”.

How this woman can claim she doesnt support racism or antisemitism but still be married to a literal racist nazi is literally olympic levels of mental gymnastics

She shares those views and just won’t admit it.

Like, that should be very obvious…

The only me tal gymnastics are people convincing themselves she doesn’t.

Eh, to be a devil’s advocate, people can change. It’s within the realm of possibility that he wasn’t like that when they were first married.

There are several medical issues like strokes and TBI that can fundamentally alter the way someone thinks. Often the people who are closest are the last to accept the change.

Eh, this kind of bullshit is Nazi apologia.

It’s “within the realm of possibility” that he wasn’t racist until he met her too. Refusing to accept that a Nazi is a Nazi without a tattoo on their chest and sometimes not even then is exactly how we let Nazis take over.

The social contract is that we do not tolerate intolerance. If someone is intolerant or they tolerate intolerance, they are violating the social contract.

If she’s calling for tolerance of his views (she is), or is clear that she’s tolerant of his views (again, she is), then she’s breaking the social contract.

As his wife, she would know his medical history, and would know if he underwent a personality shift. As a politician, she’s expected to represent all of her constituents and have sound judgement, especially in matters of conflicts of interest.
There’s no more story to know or no mitigating factors. Throw the baby out with the bathwater on this one.

I had a double stroke incident about half a year ago. That didn’t turn me into a Nazi.

“To be devil’s advocate”… fuck you for continuing to shield Nazi’s for their disgusting worldviews.

Your anecdotal evidence doesn’t mean anything. Just because it didn’t happen to you doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

      Because she’s a Neo Nazi.

Every racist claims they don’t support racism. And most Klan members’ wives sewed their sheets into hoods.

A slight correction about the Klan, while it was likely true of the first version of the Klan, the second was a multilevel marketing scam by racists to fleece other racists out of their money.

The robes were branded clothing, and the rings, and the white only vacation spots, and so much more.

The story of it all is somewhat funny, and very depressing. Mostly because it’s always the exact same story. A racist leader scamming their followers out of money while encouraging more racism.

Behind the Bastards did a multiple part episode on the Klan a while back, it’s worth a listen.

      Precisely.

I hate this societal reductivism that’s going on from the right. When they do something it’s “oh it’s free speech, don’t let them hurt your feelings” when they’re literally promoting the ideology of genocide for all but a select few degenerates.

But have the left recommend universal healthcare, or affirmative action to actually help disadvantaged people, and THEY immediately cry that it’s genocide and white eradication.

I’m fucking done with this doublespeak they’re doing. It’s not getting called out enough, it’s not being hammered home enough how despicable this kind of word-twisting is, and there’s not enough pushback to combat it. Words are losing meaning because the right misappropriates them, and people are fine with it “just to not upset the balance”. Fuck no.

In the video, (Chris Booth) also lashed out at “family friends” because they had “decided to take the article and spread it around to everyone that we know.” He lobbed anti-gay slurs at them and said he wouldn’t forget how they’d treated him.

You don’t get to cry foul when other people share the article you already published.

    What a fucking idiot.

Some constituents have a problem with that. The remaining constituents are in full support, being Nazis themselves.
