Holocaust Denial is a practice as old as the Holocaust itself.

It was started by Nazi propagandists. They danced around the genocide by using cryptic words like “special treatment” or “final solution”, or “alligator alcatraz” (edit: oops got my timelines mixed up)

Meanwhile, they kept people mostly in the dark as to what was going on there. People were abducted, transferred, and procedurally executed, with 0 transparency.

One of my wife’s friends (not mine, I don’t really like them, especially the wife because she’s the stereotype of a Catholic wife and mother like Jesus …to a ‘t’…and I get the impression that behind closed doors, the husband takes the Irish-Catholic Husband role very seriously) sends their kids to Catholic school.

Their oldest, though, is awesome. Wicked smart kid, awesome imagination. I think he may be a bit on the spectrum. The type of kid that, at a party, will have more fun talking to the parents than playing with the kids.

Anyway I feel bad for this kid because despite being super smart and having an awesome imagination, these great conversations get punctuated by Catholic fables and he treats that as equal fact.

I really want to be a part of this kids eventual atheist-awakening. It’s bound to happen, he’s far too logical and skeptical. But I really worry about how this kid will fare if it doesn’t, and what it will mean for his family ties when it does.

Pray into one hand and shit into the other. Let’s see which fills faster.

Personally I think the mod did what a mod should. The headline alone isn’t 100% factual. I hate that the left is resorting to the same half-facts that has made the right so powerful.

I certainly didn’t get the vibe that ICE was targeting protestors and the school was getting crossfire from the subheading. Not like that really defends ICE…they shouldn’t be using teargas against otherwise peaceful protestors no matter what, let alone within spotting distance of a school. Obviously ICE is very wrong here…but the headline itself tries to make them seem even more wrong, and the subheading doesn’t clear things up very much. That’s intentionally misleading.
