Trump found to have overstepped authority with tariff policies as president accuses court of political bias

Donald Trump overstepped his presidential powers with most of his globe-rattling tariff policies, a federal appeals court in Washington DC ruled on Friday.

US law “bestows significant authority on the president to undertake a number of actions in response to a declared national emergency, but none of these actions explicitly include the power to impose tariffs, duties, or the like, or the power to tax”, the court said in the 7-4 ruling.

Many of Trump’s steep tariffs are “are unbounded in scope, amount and duration”, the ruling added, and “assert an expansive authority that is beyond the express limitations” of the law his administration has leant on.

That’s nice, he’s overstepped and broken the law left and right and nobody seems to do anything about it so he will just keep doing it.

      Exactly.

But just to clarify, do we realize who actually upholds the law? News flash: its not the police. It’s the millions and millions of people who actually abide by it, and that get up and demand justice when it’s not being followed.

Except that no one is doing that, because half of America is being gaslighted and bamboozled by the media that has them trapped in a cloud of ignorance and fear, and the other half seems to be waiting for some superhero to show up and save the day.
