His argument is dumb. Just say, “girls can marry girls.”
I am of the opinion though that sometimes lgbtq+ and racial themes are too forced in media and feels like it’s just pandering or trying to make a point that doesn’t fit smoothly with the story. Like, okay there are two gay people in the story. We don’t need a lesson about civil rights every time. Just normalize it.
If something feels forced then simply dont consume it. People are bitching about the most inert shit on the planet. If they cant write a character that is gay without having a “civil rights lesson” then its just shitty writing. These themes have been explored for years In well written media. The problem is that media litteracy is so low that we are pandering the media to the lowest common denomintator. No offense but, If that isnt obvious… you might be part of the problem.
Your attempt to twist what I said into some attack on me is part of the problem. There’s no doubt that there are times during our recent history where media bandwagons onto civil rights movements just to pander to the audience. That’s annoying and is actually part of the problem. I’m sure you can understand that.
Think about businesses using pride month for profit. Some thing.
This doesn’t mean don’t put LGBTQ+ themes in media. Relax.
Again, If it annoys you ignore it. My previous statement was a conditional. IF you think this way THEN yes Im calling you stupid. There is so much classic and alternative media that have not been taken over by corporations. Complaining that the for profit companies are making profitable buisness decisions… what else is new? Are you such a slave to the corps that you cant find anything else to read, watch or play?
I never said that you are opposed to progressive media, im just calling you media illiterate. Seeing as you misinterpreted my entire comment… I wasnt far off.
“media litteracy” is becoming a problem and popular media is following the trend. They appeal to the uneducated, the media itself is calling you too stupid to read between the lines. There have always been gay characters in media, and If they wrote a better character youd know they were gay without It being so in your face about it. So yes its annoying. Youd hate a villian saying “Im the bad guy” all the same. which is the problem. They are litterally doing that not just with lgbtq stuff
my original comment was only meant to offend you IF you cant see the flaw in your reasoning, and want to continue being upset about gay and diverse shit in media.
If youre still lost, Idk man, I tried. I did call you stupid though Ill apologize for that, sincerely.

That’s such a huge jump. Because I’m bothered by something I’m media illiterate? You wanna have a point so bad. It’s yours. Live it up.
