This bill appears to add a lot of administrative strain on the school systems and will likely add to the burn out a lot of professionals in that field are feeling. Like a lot of these type of bills it seems pretty toothless though, not a lot in the ways of penalties for non compliance and the new language about ice doesn’t go into effect until 2031.

Personally I get a lot of value out of LLMs. I’ve used them almost everyday for the last three years in various projects and general chat bots, but I wouldn’t call myself an AI Booster. I’ve heard the criticisms about Gen AI the author addresses and I believe this is another case of blaming technology instead of the capitalists behind it. Do you hate the fact that a computer can generate text or images or do you really just hate the assholes that unethically scraped all of our human achievements for their benefit and are willing to destroy everything to enrich themselves on our labor? I bet it’s the latter.

I never liked talking to a therapist. I never could connect and get past this is their job, they don’t really care. When LLMs became available for dev projects a few years back I thought there would be potential in this space but considering how much sycophancy the models express these type of applications seem legitimately dangerous.
