I have an old ass webcam that only connects by a USB, and I haven’t connected to my computer in an eternity. The only other camera is on my phone, and I make sure it is never pointing at anything I don’t want people to see if it was hacked.
This shit is fucking scary.
“Hacked” is a bit much. It’s probably like the cameras on insecam.org, cameras plugged into that internet with no password or still on factory default like admin, 0000, 12345 and the like. That’s the security level of hanging a “keep out” sign on your bedroom door.
The first one I got was some Russian mansion with a bunch of kids wondering around. Yeah, I’d probably want to secure that.

It is OK to have a camera that is connected to the internet. But then have it look there where you undress?
